Frequently asked questions
Does the app track my location in the background?
No. GPS is only used at the moment you record an odometer reading, to recognise the place. The app does not track trips and does not run in the background.
Where are my data and photos stored?
Only on your own phone. There is no account and no cloud. With the backup function you create a zip with all data and photos yourself, which you restore on a new device.
Does the text recognition work without internet?
Yes. The odometer reading is read from the photo on your device. Only converting GPS coordinates into an address needs an internet connection.
Which files can I export?
Per month a claim as Excel or CSV in a standard claim format, and per year a report with all trips, all readings and the photos as evidence.
Can I add a forgotten trip afterwards?
Yes. You enter a reading afterwards with the right date and time, or split an existing trip at a forgotten stop. Miles driven privately are marked as private with one tap.
Is Letmino Mileage suitable for tax records?
The annual report contains first and last reading, all trips including private ones, all readings with photo as evidence and a completeness check. That gives you the substantiation a mileage log requires. Always check the current rules of your tax authority for your situation.
